Cut to 1938 where Joan is a Cambridge physics student who falls for young communist Leo Galich and through him, begins to see the world in a new light.

Working at a top-secret nuclear research facility during WWII, Joan comes to the realisation that the world is on the brink of mutually assured destruction. Confronted with an impossible question - what price would you pay for peace? - Joan must choose between betraying her country and loved ones, or saving them.

Murder in Play

7:30pm, £10

by Simon Brett

Directed by Alan Hoad

Boris Smolensky's budget repertory production of "Murder at Priorswell Manor" is looking decidedly shaky. The cast are more interested in their egos than the play and life imitates art when Boris's wife, Renee, is murdered on stage.

Simon Brett's hilarious show, a worthy companion to his Charles Paris theatrical thriller novels, ruthlessly satirizes the politics of the inept company and the numerous red herrings will keep you guessing all through the play.

Stepping Out - The Musical

7:30pm, £12

Book by Richard Harris

Lyrics by Mary Sewart-David. Music by Denis King.

Based on the original play by Richard Harris

The station theatre welcomes the return of the award winning White Cobra with 'Stepping Out - The Musical'

Previous shows at the station theatre included the amazing 'Scaramouche Jones' and 'Glorious!'

The play 'stepping out' which was also turned into a film starring Liza Minnelli and Julie Walters and, when originally produced in London, won the Evening Standard Award for Best New Comedy.

The play features eight individuals from various backgrounds and with differing motivations who attend the same weekly tap-dancing class. Despite first treating the classes as social occasions, and showing little co-ordination, they later develop a level of skill and cohesiveness. The dance routines are the background for the focus of the play, which focuses on the relationships and interactions of different people.

The 2018 version of the show written by Richard Harris (The British TV and Film Writer) saw Amanda Holden lead a star-studded cast in a classic British story of triumph in the face of adversity.

White Cobra’s brand-new production hits the road in the Autumn of 2019 and comes to The Station Theatre in Station Road on Saturday 16th November, 7.30pm. Come and see us and get those toes tapping!
