‘Now is the time to seize the day…’

Following the sell-out success of Frozen Jr. earlier this year, CCADS Youth Theatre return to The Station Theatre with another stunning family musical…Disney’s NEWSIES Jr.

A smash-hit on Broadway and in the West End, based on the 1992 film starring a young Christian Bale, the musical is inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City.

When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys’ expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions. Together they learn that they are stronger united and create a movement to fight for what’s right.

With a wonderful score by Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin & Little Shop of Horrors) and Jack Feldman (Copacabana) and a book by multiple Tony winner Harvey Fierstein (Kinky Boots, Hairspray), Newsies Jr. is a feast of acting, song and dance showcasing our amazing young members in a timeless story full of spirit and heart.

Joining her are the sensational Sixties Chicks—in-house performers Amy Fleur and Amy Franklin—who take audiences on a jukebox-fuelled journey through the biggest hits of the era. Adding to the fun is Chris, the club’s hapless stage hand, whose mischief, interruptions, and hilarious antics bring an extra dose of comedy and chaos to the evening!

From the British Invasion to Motown, pop, and rock &roll, this high-energy theatre show is packed with stunning harmonies, breath-taking costumes, and dynamic choreography. 'You Should Be Dancing' is a tribute to the back catalogue of the Bee Gees. The 3rd most successful band in history.

From their first hit in 1967, the BeeGees continued to write music that defined eras and songs that been covered by the likes of Destiny’s Child, Boyzone, Michael Bolton and the Foo Fighters.

Although there will be no white (Night Fever) leotards, the band will bring the very essence of the Bee Gees, with blended harmonies and a high level of musicianship to replicate the songs that we all know and love.

Veteran broadcaster Nicky Horne - (Boom Radio, Radio 1, Radio 2, Capital Radio, Talk Radio, Virgin, Sky, Channel 4) was uniquely privileged to conduct in-depth and profoundly personal interviews with all four members of The Beatles, and also with the enigma that was David Bowie.

For decades, the recordings of those interviews were lost. But Nicky has now unearthed them and is sharing their remarkable content in an intimate ‘audience with’ style show, where he will talk about these unique encounters, and where the audience will have the chance to ask him questions as well.
